Qualification Overview

The Qualifi Level 3 Award in Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis equips learners with the critical skills and knowledge required to respond effectively in emergency situations. It focuses on essential life-saving techniques, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the safe use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and the management of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).

This qualification is ideal for individuals who have a specific interest or duty of care within their workplace, home, or community and may be called upon to provide basic life support and manage anaphylactic emergencies.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this qualification, learners will be able to:

• Assess a casualty in an emergency situation
• Place a casualty into the recovery position
   
• Perform effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• Recognise and manage the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis

These outcomes are intended to ensure learners can perform potentially life-saving interventions confidently and competently in real-world scenarios.

Entry Requirements

This qualification is open to all individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum Age: Learners must be aged 16 years or over.
• English Language: Learners must have a sufficient command of English to understand instructions, participate in assessments, and undertake practical tasks.
• Physical Capability: Learners must be physically able to perform CPR on the floor and simulate emergency procedures as would be required in a workplace setting.
• Educational Level: There are no specific prior learning requirements, but learners should be able to work at Level 3 or above.

Note: Entry is at the discretion of the approved centre, and learners will be assessed for suitability prior to enrolment.
