Level-based qualifications follow a structured progression pathway, allowing students to advance step by step—from foundational to doctoral-level studies—based on their pace, goals, and existing qualifications. This modular system adheres to recognized qualification frameworks such as the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in the United Kingdom, the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
These frameworks ensure that each level corresponds to a specific set of academic outcomes and practical competencies. This structure offers significant flexibility. Learners can start at the level appropriate to their background, complete one stage, and then progress to the next while gaining relevant work experience. This approach encourages Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), a model that combines theoretical instruction with real-world application, enabling students to immediately use their knowledge in professional settings.
All qualifications offered through Qualifi, CQHE, and OTHM are subject to rigorous quality assurance processes. These awarding bodies are regulated by Ofqual, the UK government department that oversees qualifications and examinations. This ensures that all programs meet the highest standards of academic integrity and practical relevance.
Qualifi offers a wide range of vocational and academic qualifications from Level 3 to Level 8 and maintains articulation agreements with numerous UK and international universities.
CQHE operates as a global accrediting authority, emphasizing innovation in education delivery and the maintenance of international academic standards.
OTHM provides pathways that lead to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and MBA degrees. Its programs are well-regarded for their practical focus and strategic alignment with employer needs.
NQUAL (National Qualification Organisation for Applied Learning) is an emerging UK-based awarding body committed to applied and technical education.
